I always enjoy watching talented actors work and I love being able to observe a little slice of their process while working on set. Often I am near "stars" and am able to stay composed and keep to myself while they do their job. But, every once in a while I find myself in the pool of background actors that are starring at the principals in awe. Yep, I just love Melissa McCarthy, I was always a fan of her as Sookie on Gilmore Girls and then was beyond impressed when I saw her perform at the Groundlings theatre this past December.When I was under the weather for a while last year, I spent many an hour watching G.G. (thank you Makenzie). So much so, that I feel like I know her, which I don't, and while on set I laughed to myself as I thought she has no idea who I am. It is just weird and funny.
She is in the current Groundlings show now, and I overheard some of the other actors and crew talking about how much they loved her performance. It looks like Kelly and I will be heading down to watch another sketch show. Last time, I laughed so hard I cried and my cheeks hurt, seriously.

I agree-I think she is adorable! She just seems like she has to be a fun person in real life. If I even come for a visit, you will have to take me to see her perform.
Just thinking about that weird awkward standing-on-your-tiptoes move makes me want to cry with laughter all over again. Can't wait to hear about this sketch. Love you!!
