Yosemite

Simply put, we had a blast!
Hiking, Camping, Smores, Taking Pictures, Hiking, Camping, Smores, Taking Pictures...
Above Kelly and I with the Nevada Falls in the background. Our plan was to hike to the top of the falls, but about 3 miles up, the trail was closed due to falling rocks. Plenty of people were climbing over the gate and continuing the hike, as Kelly put it, "people always thinking it won't happen to me." I have the exact opposite feeling, I always think, oh my word, that would happen to me. So, we continued on a different trail down to the base of the falls and then up through "Misty Trails," which we are convinced was the setting of some of the Last of the Mohicans. Above is the lookout at Columbia Rock. Kelly had started out standing where the railing is much taller, while I was snapping pictures he moved up to this point. I panicked and seriously felt my heart go into my stomach, I am not at all a fan of heights and I don't even know how this picture was snapped because I couldn't ask Kelly to move away from that ledge fast enough. In all honesty it still makes me feel a little sick looking at it, it was 1,000 feet straight down on the other side of the railing, needless to say I never made it over there. Above, this was another view from Columbia Rock, it is Half Dome. One of the hikes Kelly is anxious to try. We will have to rally some others to join him, it isn't on my list of things I want to conquer.
These two pictures were taken at the base of the Nevada Falls. We had our lunch on the rocks and explored a bit. It was even more beautiful and much more grand than the pictures show, we will definitely be back.

Wow that does look like so much fun...ah, the great (warm) outdoors. What would you have done had I sat on that railing (as I would have been tempted to do?)
