What a week...

I've debated in my head what I do or don't want to write about last week... but considering my blog is where I semi document all the good, bad, & ugly, it seems only fitting to at least talk a bit about last week.
Last week was a tough one. A friend of Kelly's and former work partner of 2 years passed away. Both the personal and public services were on Friday, it was a super long day followed by multiple receptions. Although it was long and difficult, it was a day where Kelly's friend was honored and for many, was a huge step in the healing process.
After surviving Friday, Kelly headed to Ellensburg early early Saturday morning to run a marathon. Yes, 26.2 miles. The marathon was in honor of our friend Luke Gullberg who passed away last December. Kelly had been training since January and I couldn't be more proud of him for completing it! It too was another day of healing and something Kelly enjoyed doing very much.
There are some great marathon pictures uploaded on my computer just waiting to be seen, but both Facebook and Blogger are being pains in my neck and just keep telling me "blah blah, error, cookies..." But, I will be sure to try later and hope for better success!
Kelly returned to work today, and this morning he has already been on 2 SWAT call outs. He is thrilled, and wouldn't want it any other way. Yes, he is a breed of his own.
Other news, I am now 31 weeks pregnant. We had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and Baby Girl is doing fantastically! She is already a huge blessing to us, and we look forward to many happy tears upon her joyful arrival.

Earlier this week while Kelly and I were talking about how he was doing, and how we were so relieved to see how his buddies from work were handling everything, actually letting themselves cry and make an effort to check on one antoher. It was somewhat agreed on, that no one was going to be the "tough guy." Kelly said something so casual, yet it really stuck with me, "God designed us to grieve."

And lastly, some Bible verses that really brought me comfort this week:
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace."
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
