I just got home from a miserably boring shoot. When Kelly and I were booked as extras a couple of days ago I was told that it was for a new Eddie Murphy movie, when we finally found the correct location today (the address given to us was to an apartment complex and we were supposed to be filming at a bar/cafe) we beat over half of the crew there. The location was still locked up and NOTHING was organized, we quickly discovered that we were on the set of an ultra low budget independent film, not the new E.M. movie. I am not opposed to working on independent films, I just probably would not have chosen to work on one so far away from where we live and I would have brought some tasty snacks along too.
The rest of the week has been much more fun. On Monday I worked for the first time as an "18 to look younger," I was cast as a Big Shots Christmas Prom goer. When I arrived on set I was put in a super pouffe red dress, it had a red corset bodice that laced up in the back and a red tulle skirt that was bigger than my wedding dress skirt. I also was given 5 inch dancing heels. It was all worth it when yes, the 24 year old, was crowned prom queen! How funny is that? I had the most fun that I have had on a set, for one day I was treated just a little special. I got special touches with my hair and makeup and even some extra camera time. I have no idea what all will end up on the editing floor, but I was given a glimpse of what it will be like to not be at the way way bottom of the barrel.
I also completed my first set of improv classes this week and am currently debating whether or not I want to continue with the workshops or audition for the school.
Next on the agenda is my second "18 to look younger" job as a Quincinera (sp?) guest. Life is interesting, one week you look "aged" and the next you get to pretend you are in high school again. God is very gracious to me, He knows just when I need a little pick me up, and thanks to all my friends and family too, I am so grateful for all of your support.
