The lining in the sleeve of my previous North Face coat unraveled and thanks to REI's wonderful return policy, I got to go shopping at the Santa Monica REI. This time I found the jacket above. I realize that CA winters do not really call for heavy jackets, but thanks to the combined efforts of my family (mileage and standby tickets) Kelly and I will be going to WA for Thanksgiving! So, I just might get to test out my new coat there. After shopping in Santa Monica we drove down the Pacific Coast Hwy into Malibu, it was really refreshing to just look out and see the ocean and not be surrounded by buildings and a ton of people. I LOVE going to the ocean, I feel like I go crazy when I am away from it too long. It has been fun to see the different sealife and little critters. Kelly and I have been acting like little kids exploring and turning up rocks to see the different colored crabs and such, the Californian sea life is much more colorful than what we grew up seeing in the Northwest.
