Sunday Times

Kelly and I had a great trip up to WA, it was a mix of business and pleasure. Lots of fun family time with my cousin's graduation and then a meeting with the chief to sign on the dotted line and confirm Kelly's start date of July 1st. Unfortunately the Smith side of the family were either sick or super busy, so plans didn't work out with them.
Back in California we have just been preparing for the move. We decided to go with a similar moving company like we did before, last time we used Door to Door and it worked out really well for us. Also, we put our deposit down on an apartment up in WA and applications were turned in yesterday for potential renters on our current place. I feel like I am bracing myself for a road bump, but I should probably just enjoy how smoothly things are going so far.
As for my job hunting, I received a letter a couple of days ago from one of the school districts I used to substitute for. It read, "This notice is intended to provide you with reasonable assurance that you will continue to be employed as a substitute teacher... during the 2008-2009 school year in a similar capacity as you were employed during the 2007-2008 school year."
So, it made me laugh a bit considering I did not work one day in the 07/08 year, but I guess it is nice to know I can put my name on the sub list if nothing comes together by fall.
I was able to book work for tomorrow, which will most likely be my last day as we have our last two guests arriving early the 19th - 23rd and we ship out early early on the 25th.
Off to buy packing tape...

Oh, and to any Dads who stumble across this blog...
Happy Father's Day!

I have come across your blog thanks to Bridget. I know you're moving back to WA and I'm not sure where you guys will be living, but I work with the Issaquah School District and it looks like we'll have a 6th grade LA/SS opening. The opening just came up last week, so there's still time. I figured it was worth passing along. :)
