take a walk in my shoes...

Yesterday evening I braved yoga in the inclement weather. While I was driving there I realized I forgot to grab my flip flops. I was wearing my big ol' North Face snow boots ("boots with the fur" as Kelly calls them) because I had to scrape, or rather fling, the surprisingly powdery snow off of my car, and I didn't want to freeze standing out in the elements. Side note here: if you do not have an ice scraper, try a large rubber spatula, works like a champ, easier than flipping pancakes.
Anyway, I waltzed into the yoga studio and set my boots by the dozens of flip flops, I was dreading putting insulated boots back on after 90 minutes of sweating... After class I walked outside with bare feet and then attempted to slip the boots on, Jessica was laughing at me and wondering why in the world it was taking me so long. Well, my feet had gotten rather puffy, more like just flat out swollen from the heat, I guess I never noticed before. So, after a bit of dancing around I finally squeezed my feet in and made my way home.
This morning I thought I would learn from my mistake and make my way to yoga in my standard flip flops. But... As I sauntered out to my car I hit a huge patch of ice and my no traction summer time footwear landed me right on my bum/left side. It was the biggest spill I have ever taken. My arms were completely full, yoga mat, towels, water bottle, keys etc, so I wasn't able to even try to catch myself, I was taken by complete surprise! I seriously think I even bounced, I am not kidding, I was completely airborn and then did a little rebound bounce when I hit the pavement. I got up as quickly as possible, "laughing it off" as I realized a car was warming up right in front of me, the windows were so dark that I waved not really sure if anyone was even in there. I almost wish I had a friend with me, it would have made for quite the laugh, maybe even made the pain worth it.

I googled "spatula" and my very own calphalon spatula was the first image, I knew it was a keeper. Mental note: bring in from car :)

I have to say I love how you tell a story, I feel like I can see it happening all over again :)

The spatula is a great idea, i'll have to log that one away in my memory...

So sorry you had to take a spill! I love the thought of boots with the fur and hot yoga.

I wish I would have been there for your "big spill". We both would have peed our pants! So funny even reading about it.
