I bought my first power tool! Truthfully, I don't know if a sander is technically a power tool, but I will refer to it as such. Using it has taken me back to the good ol' days of Junior High shop class. Oh, how did I survive 2 years with Mr. Volk...
Anyway, below is a picture of a very desperate looking oak end table. I found it at a garage sale for $5.00.
I caulked/spackled in the white areas, the previous owner had let the little cracks fill in with all kinds of lovely crumbs, and I didn't want to risk that happening again...
The plan was to sand the little table down and paint it white, but I found a can of light grey flat paint and some clear semi-gloss hanging out in the garage. And, free paint just happens to be my favorite color, so voila:

My current table project is featured below. It is a craigslist find. I just picked it up yesterday, put on a coat of stain today and plan on changing out the knobs tomorrow!
Then, on to table #3, the cream dining table waiting patiently in the background for me to repaint. I already gave it a light sanding, and find sanding very therapeautic :) Off with the old, on with the new!
